Books Too Good to Review Properly
Today’s topic is Books Too Good to Review Properly. I haven’t rated all of these 5 stars (though most of them are indeed 5 stars for me), but find them hard to review for one reason or another. Here’s my List.
Dune by Frank Herbert
Rules of Civility: A Novel by Amor Towles
Stoner (New York Review Books Classics) by John Williams
Malice (The Faithful and the Fallen, 1) by John Gwynne
A Little Life by Hanya Yanagihara
The People in the Trees by Hanya Yanagihara
Drive Your Plow Over the Bones of the Dead: A Novel by Olga Tokarczuk
1Q84 (Vintage International) by Haruki Murakami
Piranesi by Susanna Clarke
Klara and the Sun: A novel by Kazuo Ishiguro
Have you read any of these? Which one is your favorite?
Check out my review of Leviathan Wakes here.

Klara and the Sun and Piranesi were SUCH good reads! And Yanagihara’s new novel looks fantastic too… These are the books I found almost too good to review properly!
I haven’t read any of these, but I can see how DUNE would be difficult to review. Classics often are for me since it feels like everything that can be said about it already has been and much more eloquently than I can!
Happy TTT!

I’ve heard good things about Stoner.

I can see why 1Q84 is hard to review.
I haven’t read any of these, but so many are on my TBR!
Dune would be hard to review I’d think.
I haven’t read any of these, but I have read Susanna Clarke’s Jonathan Strange and Mr Norell
I have only read Dune. I know about a couple of the others, but I haven’t read them. Nice list!
Dune is one of my all-time favorite books. Frank Herbert had me living in the world he’d created, and I don’t think any film adaptation will ever live up to my imagination.
Klara and the Sun is a book that I do intend to read in the future.
I haven’t read any of these, but A Little Life, Piranesi, Drive Your Plow Over the Bones of the Dead, and Klara and the Sun are all on my TBR!
I loved Piranesi and Klara! I read Drive Your Plow last year for a book club and thought it was great – very different. I haven’t read anything by Amor Towles but I think I’m going to start Rules of Civility soon. I hear so many great things about his books!
Dune would be a really hard one to review, and I feel the same about Rules of Civility!
I’ve heard about a lot of these but not read any…great selection though!
Oh yes, definitely agree with Klara and the Sun, Malice and Dune!
Oh, Rules of Civility is a great choice! It definitely could have made my list, as well.
Malice and Piranesi have both been added to my TBR – thank you!
