The Rose Hill Series by Elsie Silver

The Rose Hill series is one that kept catching my eye because of the book covers. I found a copy of Wild Eyes in the book swap corner of the hotel while on vacation and proceeded to read it. Recently I read the remaining books on my e-reader and here are my thoughts:

Wild Eyes – 2nd book but I read it first

I was not particularly impressed by the writing. And the characters…let’s say Weston is a much more memorable character than Skylar. Skylar is like a ‘deer in the headlights’ and seems a very unlikely romantic partner for Weston. I wasn’t buying it and I had no immediate plans to read more from this series. It was a good vacation read but not my favorite book in the series.

Wild Love

I’ve been going through a stressful period recently and wanted to read some romance or rom com and remembered Elsie Silver. I got the ebook of Wild Love and read it in a day! Definitely liked it much better than Wild Eyes. I liked the characters and the romantic tension was off the charts.

Wild Side

I loved Tabitha, but wasn’t so much into Rhys as he was very private. They also seemed like a very unlikely match, but I did appreciate them overcoming some administrative hurdles thrown their way together. I really liked seeing the characters from previous books again as well.

Wild Card

I was debating whether to try this at all because of who Gwen is to Bash and Tripp. Decided to read a few chapters and see, ended up finishing the book in a few hours. Not my favorite in the series, but better than expected.

Overall, it is a series you can read quickly should you want to read a romance. The books are somewhat connected as they take place in mostly the same location and characters are introduced and reappear in the other books, but you can also read them separately. Wild Love is definitely my favorite and it’s conveniently the first book so I’d start there and continue if you like the writing style and want to see the characters again.
