Here´s 10 books that were a pleasant surprise:

  1. Holding Up the Universe by Jennifer Niven – because it felt like a hug to my younger self;
  2. The Murmur of Bees by Sofia Segovia – a very good audiobook and interesting story;
  3. Drive Your Plow Over the Bones of the Dead by Olga Tokarczuk – fantastic character work and writing style;
  4. Why We Eat (Too Much) by Dr Andrew Jenkinson – one that made me think;
  5. The Road Trip by Beth O’Leary – a laughing out loud kind of book;
  6. Three Apples Fell from the Sky by Narine Abgaryan – similar to Tokarczuk’s book but also warm and cozy and includes fantastic food and recipes;
  7. Lessons in Chemistry by Bonnie Garmus – another amazing main character and interesting concept;
  8. Part of Your World by Abby Jimenez – a rare high rating for a contemporary romance from me;
  9. Birnam Wood by Eleanor Catton – intriguing concept and makes me want to read more from Catton;
  10. Big Mall by Kate Black – have you ever wondered how malls came to be? If yes, check this book out!
