What a good topic! Here’s my list:

1. J.R.R. Tolkien – The Hobbit
2. Ken Follett – World Without End (Kingsbridge #2)
3. Anthony Doerr – All the Light We Cannot See
4. Haruki Murakami – What I Talk About When I Talk About Running
5. J.K. Rowling – Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (Harry Potter, #4)
6. Neil Gaiman – Stardust
7. George Orwell – Animal Farm
8. L.M. Montgomery – Anne of Green Gables (Anne of Green Gables, #1)
9. Edward Rutherfurd – New York
10. Maggie O’Farrell – Hamnet

I appreciate some of these authors are controversial, but I’d marked them as favorite long before I knew of said controversies. I’m trying to separate the art from the author andI decided to include them today as the list would be incomplete without them.
