Definitely Blood Over Bright Haven by M.L. Wang – such a great standalone fantasy! If you love the genre, I highly recommend you check it out. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Best sequel you\u2019ve read so far in 2024<\/strong>?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Ink Black Heart (Cormoran Strike #6) by Robert Galbraith. For some reason I’d forgotten about these books, but I saw a post somewhere of the latest book in the series and realized 2 more books had come out. Book 6 is the longest in the series so far, but it’s also my favorite. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

New release you haven\u2019t read yet, but want to.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Table for Two by Amor Towles. I did not know this was a thing and purchased a copy after spotting it on Instagram. I did not realize it’d be a short story collection though, so my enthusiasm has gone down a bit. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Most anticipated release for the second half of the year.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wind and Truth (Stormilight Archive #5) by Brandon Sanderson even though I haven’t read book 4 yet. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00a0Biggest disappointment.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Friend Zone by Abby Jimenez. This was just not good. You can read my full review here.<\/a> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dead Wake: The Last Crossing of the Lusitania by Erik Larson. I’ve made it my mission to read as many of his books as I can this year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Favourite new author. (Debut or new to you)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Erik Larson again. I have read some other new to me authors this year, but they don’t stand out as much as Larson. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Daniel Grant from Part of Your World by Abby Jimenez. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Newest favourite character.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Briana and Jacob from Yours Truly by Abby Jimenez with their complicated family histories and character traits. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Book that made you cry.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I remember reading something on my Kindle late at night that made shed a tear, but I cannot remember what book it was at the moment. I’ve scrolled through my Kindle and recent reads but I cannot recognize it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Book that made you happy<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Jade Setter of Janloon by Fonda Lee not because it is a happy story but because I was happy to be back in the world of Jade and Janloon. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Most beautiful book you\u2019ve bought so far this year (or received)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My clothbound copies of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dublin by Edward Rutherfurd, In the Garden of Beasts by Erik Larson and A Day of Fallen Night by Samantha Shannon. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
