Today’s topic is Books That Provide a Much-Needed Escape. And when I hear escape I immediately think fantasy so here are some of my favorites in the genre: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    I’m pairing this with the Finally Fall Book Tag. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    1. In fall, the air is crisp and clear: name a book with a vivid setting<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Bookshops and Bonedust by Travis Baldree. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    2. Nature is beautiful\u2026 but also dying: name a book that is beautifully written, but also deals with a heavy topic like loss or grief<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Grief Is the Thing with Feathers: A Novel by Max Porter. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    3. Fall is back to school season: share a non-fiction book that taught you something new<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Why We Eat (Too Much): The New Science of Appetite by Andrew Jenkinson.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    4. \u00a0In order to keep warm, it\u2019s good to spend some time with the people we love: name a fictional family\/household\/friend-group that you\u2019d like to be a part of<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    I’d like to hang out with the elves in Rivendell (in times of peace in Middle Earth of course!). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    5. The colorful leaves are piling up on the ground: show us a pile of fall-colored spines<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Pardon the look of a photo, I’ll name the books instead: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The Book Thief by Markus Zusak <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zaf\u00f3n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    6. Fall is the perfect time for some storytelling by the fireside: share a book wherein somebody is telling a story<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    If reading a story counts: Tilly and the Book Wanderers by Anna James. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    7. The nights are getting darker: share a dark, creepy read<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    I’m not a fan of dark and creepy reads but Coraline by Neil Gaiman comes to mind. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    8. The days are getting colder: name a short, heartwarming read that could warm up somebody\u2019s cold and rainy day<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The Uncommon Reader by Alan Bennett. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    9. Fall returns every year: name an old favorite that you\u2019d like to return to soon.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Heidi by Johanna Spyri (my all time favorite I’d like to reread). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    10. Fall is the perfect time for cozy reading nights: share your favorite cozy reading \u201caccessories\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    A hot drink, cozy blanket and rain outside make for the perfect fall reading atmosphere. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
