Ten Book to Movie Adaptations I Want To Watch
Today’s topic is minor characters that need more love. In typical Stefani fashion, I’m doing my own topic as I’ve been getting back into movies lately and have assembled a list of book to movie adaptations I want to watch. The list of titles can be found in the table below:
Title | Book | Movie |
Howl’s Moving Castle | ✓ | ✗ |
The Light Between Oceans | ✗ | ✗ |
Little Women | ✓ | ✗ |
The Remains of the Day | ✓ | ✗ |
The Wizard of Oz | ✓ | ✗ |
Persepolis | ✓ | ✗ |
Emma | ✓ | ✗ |
The Age of Innocence | ✓ | ✗ |
The Call of the Wild | ✗ | ✗ |
Dune | ✗ | ✗ |
As you can see, I still need to read some of these titles, however, I’ll be most busy watching the adaptations. The goal is to read/watch as many of these as possible and then review both in a new ‘Book vs. Movie’ section on the blog.
Which one do you recommend I start with? Let me know in the comments below.
The Wizard of Oz, of course!
I’ve seen the latest Dune trailer and definitely want to watch it. But more than anything else on the list, I would recommend Ghibli’s Howl’s Moving Castle, and Little Women (the latest 2019 (?) movie). I hope you get to see all of these some day.
I’ve watched the 2019 Little Women movie which I really enjoyed, but I only managed to get about halfway through the book. I think it’s one of those cases where the movie is more my speed than the book, I really struggle with the Victorian style of writing!

You were so organized with this list! 🙂

I need to watch Emma and Little Women 2019 as well.
What an awesome idea for this week! I always try my best to read the book before watching a movie, but you’ve listed some books I haven’t read, and a few that I didn’t even know were movies (Persepolis is a MOVIE?! BRB running to check it out asap).
Great topic! I really need to catch up on some movies too, as I haven’t watched any of these yet either. Little Women is highest on my list 🙂
Great list! When you finally watch Little Women, you have a few versions of the movie to watch. You could do a book vs. movie vs. movie vs. movie post.
I twisted the topic some, as I have trouble remembering secondary characters.
When you get the chance, I hope you stop by my post: https://readbakecreate.com/10-books-that-deserve-more-love/
you must start with The Wizard of Oz – it’s a classic! My TTT
I love this idea. Dune and Emma sound especially fun to me! Especially a comparison! 🙂
I have a hard time with book-to-movie adaptations since so many of them are just…disappointing. I do love the Little Women movie starring Winona Ryder, though. The casting is excellent!
Happy TTT!

This is such a great twist on this week’s topic! The Wizard of Oz is a classic, and the movie for Howl’s Moving Castle was good but I preferred the book (though I guess that’s to be expected!). I really want to watch Little Women! Great list!
Howl’s Moving Castle is so much fun. I like the book and movie equally!
