My Ten Most Recent Reads

Today’s TTT topic is all about “my ten most recent reads. Here we go:

Shadow Forest by Matt Haig – Haig can do no wrong when it comes to children’s stories. I do seem to rate his Christmas themed ones higher, nevertheless, this was a good one!

The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle by Haruki Murakami – typical Murakami writing but a twist on the magical realism element. I liked it a lot, but at the same time… I don’t think I’m done processing it. One I’d definitely like to reread in the future.

Britt-Marie Was Here by Fredrik Backman – I love Backman, his humor and all and this book was no exception. Britt-Marie is such a unique, strong female character so definitely one worth reading.

Wundersmith by Jessica Townsend – Loved the first book, however, losing some interest in book 2 but I think I’ll keep reading the series regardless. If you’re looking for Harry Potter vibes, this is the series for you!

Art Matters by Neil Gaiman – Just trust me and read it!

The Test by Sylvain Neuvel – it’s weird but good weird if you know what I mean. If you like sci fi and are looking for a short read, check it out.

Tilly and the Lost Fairy Tales by Anna James – bookwandering is a beautiful concept, yet this is another middle grade sequel that has disappointed me recently.

A Tangle of Spells by Michelle Harrison – Fliss, Betty and Charlie are off on another “little adventure” and may or may not stumble across some witches. It was a fun read.

Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo – I liked this second Grishaverse series a lot, looking forward to watching the TV Show.

The Crown of Gilded Bones by Jennifer L. Armentrout – one of my most anticipated reads of the year ended up being a big flop. This was romance more so than fantasy and I missed the fantasy elements a lot.

On that note, I’m considering making some changes to the blog and content and I’m interested in what you think about TBRs, book hauls and wrap ups. Please check out this blog post No Wrap Ups, No TBRs, No Book Hauls and let me know what you think.

Leave your recent reads TTT in the comments, happy reading!
