Say You’ll Remember Me by Abby Jimenez

I keep reading Abby Jimenez’s books looking for the thing that captured my attention in the Part of Your World book. Perhaps I read it at the perfect time, or, perhaps it’s because themes seem to be repeating and I feel like I’ve already read this.
Say You’ll Remember Me is the story of the unlikely romance between veterinarian Xavier and social media pro Samantha. And it’s unlikely for reasons I cannot reveal as they’re spoilers.
I loved Xavier’s dedication to helping animals and I do understand his drive to prove himself to his parents, but a part of me wished he’d let it go and live his life. I also wish we saw more of his friends, they seemed a fun bunch. I’m assuming they might feature in future books should this be turned into a book series.
Samantha’s social media posts for Murkle Mustard were hilarious, I’d love to follow an account like that. I also love that she’s there for her family no matter what.
The obstacles thrown their way were a bit much at the end and the resolution was convenient and hard to believe at the same time. I also think the book could’ve wrapped up a bit sooner, it got repetitive and did not build up suspense by being repetitive.
I’m probably going to read Abby’s future books on vacation or summer time. If you have any recommendation for vacation reads, drop them in the comments below as mine’s coming up soon. Happy reading!
