Greece Actually by Sue Roberts

I recently came back from a week’s vacation in Greece. It was lovely, I ate all the good food, read a lot and felt very relaxed for the first time in a while.

So, naturally, after back-to-work mode kicked back in, I found myself nostalgic for that week in Greece. And that’s when I found this book.

It was perfect read at the perfect time!

It’s the story of Becky, the owner of a small business in the UK that hasn’t been on vacation in a long time. Her uncle invites her to watch over his villa on Skiathos island, Greece while he goes off on a sailing trip.

That’s the dream right there! I wish my uncle had a villa on Skiathos.

Okay, back to Becky now. She invites her two best friends to go with her and all three embark on their Greek adventure. They spent surprisingly little time at the actual beaches, more so focused on exploring the island and enjoying the food. Naturally, handsome Greek men enter the picture.

Without revealing anything more, I’ll say this is the perfect summer read, the audiobook is available on Scribd and it’s relatively short. Definitely check it out and give it a chance this summer.

I wonder if the author wrote this on Skiathos, or, just went on vacation, had a great time and decide to set the book there? Perhaps, some Greek roots event? I should look that up.

I’ve been lucky enough to vacation on the island in 2018 and it’s a wonderful place. A lot of the scenes Becky describes as seeing on the island, I’ve seen with my own eyes. I also took a boat trip to Skopelos island. So, Sue Roberts, thanks for the throwback and the memories. I’m glad I read this and I’d definitely read more Sue Roberts.

Have you read this book or added it to your TBR?

Your vacation to Greece sounds wonderful. I’ve always wanted to go there. Maybe someday. Until then I can curl up with this book and imagine I’m there. 😀
