The Pillars of the Earth was the book that made me fall in love with historical fiction genre in the first place. But years later I read World Without End, and it’s not as captivating as Pillars.

  12. The only one here I’ve read was The Book Thief, but it was a DNF for me. I just struggled to stay connected to the story.
