Spring Book Unhaul

Click the image to be taken to the blog hosting Top Ten Tuesday

Today’s Topic is a Spring Cleaning Freebie so without further ado, here’s a list of some books I’m unhauling for one reason or another.

Artemis Fowl by Eeoir Colfer – entertaining but I’m never going to reread it

The Mysterious Flame of Queen Loana by Umberto Eco – what even was this boook?

The White Masai by Corinne Hofmann – not a fan of the writing at all

Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë – duplicate copy, I prefer the Vintage Classics cover I now own

Americanah by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie – another one I don’t think I’ll ever reread

The Bone Season by Samantha Shannon – I don’t care for the clairvoyance stories it seems

Traitor’s Blade by Sebastian de Castell – sadly underwhelming, I was expecting the next Gentleman Bastard series but it wasn’t meant to be

Autumn by Ali Smith – Weirdly political, I wanted to read an Ali Smith book and my curiosity has been satisfied, I don’t feel the need to keep a copy

The Rage of Dragons by Evan Winter – I plan on reading the rest of the series on my Kindle

Vinegar Girl by Anne Tyler – I hated it, as simple as that.

Mind you some of these are yet to be featured in a book haul, I’m yet to post one. Confusing, I know. I’ll try to do better for the next haul / unhaul round.

I have so many books I need to unhaul… 🙂

I wasn’t a big fan of the writing style of The White Masai either. You’re not alone. 🙂

I like The Bone Season series, but it’s definitely not for everyone!

Bummer about The Bone Season – I have it on my TBR, too.

Here is our Top Ten Tuesday. Thanks!

  5. Good for you for unhauling all of these.

Good job lightening your TBR load! I’ve tried and failed multiple times to read a Bronte Sisters book, and I just can’t- their brand of melancholy and unsympathetic characters isn’t for me, I guess.

I’ve actually read all of these, but want to make space on my shelves for other titles. Jane Eyre is the only Bronte book I like so far, I understand they’re not for everyone. Thanks for visiting Jessica!

  7. The only one I’ve got is Bone Season but for some reason I can’t find the enthusiasm to read it!

I understand the sentiment, I read to join in a buddy read, otherwise not sure if I’d have picked it up. Thanks for visiting Heather!

  8. Unhauling is so therapeutic!

  9. I haven’t read any of these, but unhauling books you don’t enjoy is very cathartic.

  10. I have had the first book in the Artemis Fowl series hanging out on my TBR pile for years … really, since I was in middle school at this point. Maybe one day!

    • stefitabak says:

I read it recently and thought I’m too old for it TBH, I’m 27! If you get to it, hope you’ll like it 😀 Thanks for visiting Christopher!

  11. The Bone Season is on my TBR or at least I purchased the e-book of it.

  12. Louise @Foxes and Fairy Tales says:

I have to say, The Mysterious Flame of Queen Loana is a super dramatic title!

  13. I’ve still got Artemis Fowl on my bookshelf from when I was little, never re-read it and I don’t think I was that fussed on it at the time. Should probably unhaul it too!

  14. Great list! I can’t blame you for getting rid of Vinegar Girl–that book was SO BAD.

  15. Unhauls can be super satisfying! I haven’t read any of these yet, though The Bone Season is still on my TBR (for now) 🙂

  16. I purposefully buy duplicate copies of books here and there. Sometimes when they re-release them with pretty new covers I just cannot resist. 😀 Thanks so much for visiting Finding Wonderland on this week!

I really liked The Bone Season at the time but I’ve just never read on. I’m not sure why
